Many small business websites look good but bring no enquiries. The difference is usually not the design. It is a few basic things that help visitors trust you and contact you quickly.
Use this checklist to check your own website.
1. It works well on phones
Most of your visitors use a phone. Text should be easy to read without zooming, buttons should be big enough to tap, and nothing should spill off the screen.
2. It loads fast
If a page takes more than 3 seconds, many people leave. Compress images, avoid heavy sliders and use good hosting. You can test your speed for free with Google PageSpeed Insights.
3. A clear headline that says what you do
Within a few seconds, a visitor should know what you do, where you are and who it is for. "Packaging materials and packers & movers in Jaipur" is much better than "Welcome to our website".
4. WhatsApp and call buttons
In India, customers prefer WhatsApp. Add a WhatsApp chat button and a click-to-call button that stay visible on mobile.
5. A simple enquiry form
Keep the form short: name, phone, what they need. Every extra field means fewer enquiries. Make sure the enquiries actually reach you by email or WhatsApp, and test it regularly.
6. Your services or products, clearly listed
Give each main service or product its own section or page, with a short description and real photos. It helps customers decide, and it helps Google show you for more searches.
7. Trust signals
Show why people can trust you:
- Real customer reviews and testimonials
- Photos of your shop, team and work
- Registrations like GST, FSSAI or MSME where relevant
- Years in business and number of happy customers
8. Contact details and location
Your address, phone number, email, opening hours and a Google Map should be easy to find, ideally in the footer of every page.
9. Google basics
Every page should have a proper title and description, the website should have a sitemap, and it should be connected to Google Search Console and your Google Business Profile. Without these, Google may not show your website at all.
10. Easy to update
Prices, offers and photos change. If you need a developer for every small change, the website quickly gets out of date. An admin panel lets you update it yourself in minutes.
How does your website score?
If your website is missing more than three of these, it is probably losing you customers. We are happy to review it for free and suggest what to fix first. Send us your website link.
